Iran possessed extensive and varied mineral resources. It is one of the most important mineral producers in the world and is ranked among 15 major mineral rich countries, holding some 68 types of minerals. The most important mines in Iran include coal, metallic minerals, sand and gravel, chemical minerals and salt. Khorasan has the most operating mines in Iran. Other large deposits which mostly remain underdeveloped are zinc (world's largest), copper (world's second largest), iron (world's ninth largest), Uranium (world's tenth largest) and lead (world's eleventh largest). Iran with roughly 1% of the world's population holds more than 7% of the world's total mineral reserves.
Iran produces or piment and realgar arsenic concentrates, silver, asbestos, borax, hydraulic cement, clays (bentonite, industrial, and kaolin), diatomite, feldspar, fluorspar, turquoise, industrial or glass sand (quartzite and silica), lime, magnesite, nitrogen (of ammonia and urea), perlite, natural ocher and iron oxide mineral pigments, pumice and related volcanic materials, caustic soda, stones and decorative stones (including granite, marble, travertine, dolomite, and limestone), celestite, natural sulfates (aluminum potassium sulfate and sodium sulfate), Amber, Tungsten, Agate, lapislazuli and talc.
Annual mica production of 7,000 tonnes of Iran's 2,700 mines, most were privately owned and 2,000 were active, producing 42 minerals—65% produced building and construction materials, and 20% were stone quarries. These quarries have big production capacity and need the corresponding crusher machine. Cathay company has a series perfect solution to help the Iran quarries increase their output. We have formed the production line for big equipments and complete sets of equipments. The hot product: mobile series crusher, impact crusher series, VSI5x crusher, HCS90 cone crusher bring great choices for the stone quarries. Mining in Iran is under-developed and the future is so extremely promising.
Iran’s mineral wealth, in addition to oil and gas, includes chromite, lead, zinc, copper, coal, gold, tin, iron, manganese, ferrous oxide, and tungsten. Iran’s steel and aluminum production increased by four and five percent respectively during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 20).During the aforementioned time, aluminum production has reached 151,470 tons, while steel output reached over 3.6 million tons, registering a four-percent increase year on year. The production volume of steel products was about 5.6 million tons which has raised 13 percent during the first six months of the year in comparison with the same period last year.
The official claimed that the share of the mine sector in the country’s GDP is currently about 0.8 percent, and added, This figure will rise to 1.2 percent during the Fifth Development Plan if the Iranian Majlis (parliament) approves the ministry’s plans.
Iranian Deputy Minister of Mines and Industry, said mine production capacity will reach the fifth development plan (2010-2015) end of the 500 million tons. In order to achieve the desired output, Cathay will be configured according to customer needs related to the production line, such as jaw crusher, impact crusher, spring cone crusher, conveyor belts, as well as mobile crushing stations, etc.
Cathay is a leader supplier of construction and mining industry solution for global customer.
